This isn’t a “lemon water and prayer” weight loss story.
I wasn’t looking for how to lose weight naturally—but that’s exactly what happened! No dieting, no calorie counting, and definitely no beating myself up in the gym. (Don’t hate me.)
After two miscarriages, I knew I had to get serious about my health—like, deep health. Not “drink more smoothies” health. Not “maybe I’ll try celery juice” health.
My goal wasn’t to lose weight. I just wanted my body to stop feeling like a tired, puffy stranger who needed a nap after walking up the stairs.
So I started digging into clean living—hoping to heal my body from the inside out before trying to get pregnant again (Spoiler Alert: I got my double rainbow baby after these changes!).
That meant removing toxins, ditching hormone-disrupting junk, and fueling myself with real food instead of whatever sad takeout was easiest.
And somewhere in that process? I looked in the mirror one day and thought, “Wait… is that a jawline?”
Have you been struggling to lose weight (and keep it off)?

Maybe you’ve even started wondering if natural weight loss is just a myth—or something that works for everyone except you.If you just nodded, this post is for you. 💚
Because I’m going to show you exactly what worked for me—and how to make it work for you too.

My Natural Weight Loss From Clean Eating & Clean Living
Before we dive into how to lose weight naturally, let me show you what’s possible when you focus on clean living instead of fad dieting.
✨ My Natural Weight Loss Timeline:
- January 1st, 2022— I started my clean living journey
- 3 months in — I noticed my clothes fitting looser, energy improving, and bloating gone
- 6 months in — Pants were falling off (the good kind of wardrobe malfunction)
- 1 year later — I felt stronger, leaner, more energized, and more “me” than ever
And the best part? I wasn’t dieting. I wasn’t obsessed with the scale. I was just living cleaner, eating better, and giving my body what it actually needed.
👀 Here’s my weight loss progress through 1 year of clean eating + non-toxic living (so you can see this is legit):

The Shocking Truth About How to Lose Weight Naturally
What if I told you that losing weight naturally doesn’t require you to obsess over calories, ban bread forever, or work out until you collapse in order to lose weight?
🙋♀️ Because I didn’t do any of that—and the weight still came off!
My results came from swapping out toxins, nourishing my body, and supporting my hormones. That’s it.
The secret to how to lose weight naturally isn’t in another extreme diet—it’s in removing the junk your body is constantly fighting off.
Think of it like this:
- You detox your home = your body can stop firefighting
- You eat clean = your gut + hormones start working for you
- You show up consistently = your body thanks you by finally letting go of weight it didn’t need
It’s not sexy. It’s not flashy. But it works.

The Power of Clean Eating for Natural Weight Loss
Let’s break down what clean eating actually means—because no, it’s not just about kale and quinoa.
Clean eating = fueling your body with real, whole foods that don’t come with a side of inflammation, hormone disruption, or blood sugar crashes.
Here’s what it looks like:
🍎 Organic produce (especially the Dirty Dozen!)
🥩 Grass-fed + pasture-raised proteins
🧈 Healthy fats like avocado, coconut oil, and olive oil
🥣 Minimal-ingredient, nutrient-dense carbs (think sourdough, not Pop-Tarts)
🚫 Saying buh-bye to inflammatory seed oils and anything artificial (sweeteners, flavors, colors, preservatives)

By choosing real food over processed, packaged, additive-laden stuff, you’re:
- Reducing inflammation
- Supporting your gut and metabolism
- Balancing your blood sugar (aka fewer hangry cravings)
- Nourishing your body so it can release weight instead of hoarding it like emotional baggage
Oh, and you’ll feel SO much better. Energy? Yes. Clear skin? Bonus. Bloat? Gone.

Harnessing the Benefits of Clean Living
Clean eating fuels your body. But clean living supports it from all angles by reducing your toxin burden.
Because here’s the deal: the products you use every day—from your makeup to your laundry detergent to that “Fresh Linen” air freshener—are often loaded with hormone-disrupting toxins.
And when your hormones are out of whack? So is your metabolism.
Even if you’re eating “healthy” and working out.
Clean living helps your body get back into balance, reduce inflammation, and actually detox the gunk it’s been storing in your fat cells.
Some of the biggest hormone-disrupting toxins to watch out for:
- Fragrance (toxic cocktails of mystery ingredients found in almost everything from shampoo to “clean” candles)
- Phthalates + parabens (in lotions, makeup, haircare)
- Pesticides + herbicides (on conventional produce)
- BPA/BPS (from plastic containers, water bottles, and receipts)
- Non-stick chemicals (PFAS) in Teflon-style cookware
I started replacing these gradually—as each product ran out—and it made a bigger difference than I expected. I wasn’t bloated all the time. My skin cleared. I stopped feeling like I needed a nap by 10am.
Your environment matters. And cleaning it up doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

My Steps To Lose Weight Naturally
Let’s get into the juicy part: exactly what I did to experience natural weight loss without tracking macros or spending hours in the gym.
Here’s my no-fluff list of what worked (and what I still focus on today):
🥗 Clean Eating
Clean eating is all about fueling your body with real, whole, minimally processed foods—and skipping the chemical chaos hiding in so many pantry staples. Think: ingredients you can pronounce and meals your great-grandma would recognize.
Turns out, you can’t out-crunch a junk-filled diet. Once I swapped out the ultra-processed stuff for nourishing, organic foods, everything started to shift—my digestion improved, my energy soared, and the bloat? Left the chat.
Clean eating wasn’t about being perfect. It was about being intentional. And that made all the difference.
PSA: Clean eating is so much easier (and tastier) when you’ve got the right tools. From my go-to French press to glass food storage and monk fruit sweetener, I linked it all in my Amazon Clean Eating Gear list. 🛒

Eat Organic
One of the very first things I did when I started eating clean was swap out my go-to foods and drinks with organic versions as I used them up. I didn’t toss everything overnight (because money), but I upgraded intentionally and consistently.
So… why go organic?
Because “organic” isn’t just a buzzword—it actually means something. Here’s what you get when you choose organic:
✅ Lower levels of synthetic pesticide residue
✅ No antibiotics or added growth hormones
✅ No GMOs (only naturally grown ingredients)
✅ No sewage sludge used as fertilizer (yep, that’s a thing—ew!)
✅ No artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives
✅ Higher nutritional value in many cases (hello, antioxidant boost)
It’s not always easy (or budget-friendly) to go 100% organic, and that’s okay. Just do your best and focus on the biggest-impact swaps first.
Start with:
- Organic versions of your most-used pantry staples (coffee, creamer, oats, rice, etc.)
- Animal products like dairy, eggs, and meat (those hormones and antibiotics matter!)
- The Dirty Dozen produce list from the Environmental Working Group (the worst offenders for pesticide residue)
🍓 The EWG’s Dirty Dozen = fruits and veggies that should always be organic
🥑 The EWG’s Clean Fifteen = produce that’s safer to buy conventional if you’re prioritizing your budget

Focus on Quality Proteins + Healthy Fats
I started out eating a produce-heavy diet, but over time I shifted into something closer to low-carb—with an emphasis on nutrient-dense proteins and healthy fats.
That balance made a huge difference in my energy, cravings, and ability to feel full without needing a fourth snack.
Let’s talk protein first:
- I eat grass-fed beef and drink grass-fed whole milk.
In the wise words of Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation:
“There’s only one thing I hate more than lying: skim milk, which is water that’s lying about being milk.” 🤣 - I also eat butter, cheese, and full-fat plain Greek yogurt
- And eggs? Oh yes. Lots of eggs!
They’re one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, packed with protein, healthy fats, and essential vitamins.
I aim for pasture-raised, but free-range is my fallback if I can’t find pasture-raised or they’re just too pricey at the time (a girl’s gotta stick to her budget now and then).
Also… let’s stop fearing cholesterol, shall we? It’s not the enemy—it’s essential for hormone production, especially when you’re healing your body (and supporting fertility).
For fats, I load up on the clean stuff:
- 🥑 Avocados + Avocado Oil
- 🫒 Olive Oil
- 🥥 Coconut Oil
- 🥜 Nuts + Seeds (especially walnuts, chia seeds + hemp hearts)

These keep me full, help balance my blood sugar, and support hormone health. No seed oils. No trans fats. Just the good stuff.
Now about those carbs…
I don’t avoid them entirely—because, well, carbs. Life is too short. But I do try to be intentional. I choose:
- Sourdough bread since the fermentation process makes it easier to digest, lowers the gluten content, and helps your body absorb more nutrients (plus, it just tastes better)
- Italian-made pasta made with durum wheat, which is naturally higher in protein, fiber, and B vitamins like folate
I follow a modified paleo approach—low-ish carb, high-quality fat, and protein-forward. Think simple, whole ingredients over trendy restrictions.
Limit Processed Foods + Refined Sugar
This step was a biggie for me—and honestly, one of the hardest at first. But once I learned what was in my food and how it was messing with my body, I couldn’t un-know it.
Here’s what I started avoiding—and why:
- Inflammatory oils (like canola, soybean, vegetable, safflower, and sunflower oil): These ultra-processed seed oils are often rancid before they even hit the bottle. They’re high in omega-6 fatty acids, which trigger inflammation in the body and have been linked to hormone disruption, gut issues, and chronic disease.
- Refined sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup, brown rice syrup, and cane sugar): These spike your blood sugar, mess with your metabolism, feed bad gut bacteria, and contribute to insulin resistance (hello, stubborn weight gain). HFCS in particular is a known liver offender and inflammatory nightmare.
- Artificial additives + preservatives (like gums, dyes, and “natural flavors”): These can cause gut irritation, disrupt digestion, trigger allergic reactions, and confuse your body with synthetic ingredients it literally doesn’t know how to process.

Even many organic packaged foods sneak in these shady little ingredients (tragic but true). So now I read labels like a crunchy FBI agent. 🧐
When I do eat something with added sugar, I check the source. I stick with:
- 🍯 Natural sweeteners like coconut sugar, maple syrup, raw honey, and monk fruit
- 🚫 But I skip stevia, since it can interfere with hormones and act like a steroid in the body (no thanks)
The more meals you can make from scratch, the better. That way, you know exactly what’s in your food (and what’s not).
And yes, I do still eat out occasionally (usually once a week or so). But I try to go for quality and make healthier choices—like avoiding fried foods and produce on the EWG Dirty Dozen list.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about choosing foods that love you back—and letting your body finally breathe without the toxic burden.

Work on Gut Health
Gut health is the foundation of everything from your immune system to your hormones to your ability to digest and absorb nutrients (aka the stuff that actually fuels weight loss).
I had no idea how much my gut was struggling until I started cleaning up my diet and adding in probiotic support. Once I did?
Total game-changer—especially for my IBS. Less bloating, better digestion, less trips to the bathroom, more regularity (hello!), and no more “I can’t button these jeans because my gut’s throwing a tantrum” days.
Here’s what worked for me:
- 🥬 Fermented foods—I focused on including probiotic-rich foods in my diet like kombucha, yogurt, sauerkraut and kimchi (yum!)
- 🥤 Daily probiotic supplements for an extra boost of gut support
- 🍽️ Eating clean—cutting out processed junk and inflammatory foods gave my gut a break so it could actually heal
When your gut is inflamed and your microbiome is out of whack, your body’s ability to break down food, regulate blood sugar, and eliminate waste slows way down. And yes, that can mean stubborn weight gain, low energy, hormone chaos, and all the bloat.
Feed your good gut bacteria, starve the bad stuff, and let your body do its thing.

🧼 Clean Living
If clean eating was the fuel, clean living was the support system my body didn’t know it needed. I had no idea how many everyday products were secretly wrecking my hormones, jacking up my inflammation, and making it harder to lose weight.
From laundry detergent to cookware to “fresh” smelling candles—once I started ditching the endocrine-disrupting junk, my body finally started to chill out… and the weight came off without a fight.
Clean living is about reducing the toxin load your body’s been silently carrying. Swap by swap, I created a home (and a routine) that actually supported my goals instead of sabotaging them.
Here’s what I changed:
- Switched to non-toxic household cleaners (Branch Basics FTW)
- Eliminated fragrance (especially air fresheners, candles + laundry items – only natural essential oils)
- Moved to non-toxic laundry products (another Branch Basics win!)
- Went with natural deodorant, skincare + personal care (I heart Primally Pure + my Amazon finds!)
- Swapped out plastic food storage for glass + silicone (check out my Amazon picks!)
- Ditched toxic cooking gear and upgraded to Caraway + glass, stainless steel, bamboo or silicone (shop my Amazon faves!)
- Started purifying our water (AquaTru filter gang over here)

💆♀️ Self-Care
No, not bubble baths and glass-of-wine “self-care” (although I’m always down for that!). I’m talking real, body-loving practices that actually support your health and weight loss goals.
Things like dry brushing, Gua Sha, and moving my body regularly (even if it’s just a walk around the block). These weren’t extras—they were essential. They helped boost circulation, detox my lymphatic system, and tone my body without the high-intensity drama.
Consistent, low-key self-care > burning out in week two of a new routine.
Dry Brushing (A.K.A. My Favorite Lazy-Girl Detox)
Dry brushing is one of those simple little rituals that feels fancy but takes like, two minutes. And the benefits? Chef’s kiss.
It stimulates your lymphatic system, boosts circulation, exfoliates dry skin, and helps your body detox—naturally. All things that support weight loss, reduce inflammation, and help you feel less like a puffy marshmallow and more like your glowing, energized self.
I use the dry brushes from Primally Pure a few times a week—one for body, one for face. (Yes, I’m that crunchy now.)
Get 10% OFF every Primally Pure order with discount code “WLM” (save this code – it can be used every time you order)!
It only takes a few minutes before the shower, and it’s such a simple way to give your body a little extra detox love. Plus, it feels kind of amazing once you get the hang of it.
Here’s why I’m obsessed:
- Supports lymphatic drainage to reduce bloating and inflammation
- Helps detox by boosting circulation
- Smooths skin (take that, cellulite!) and improves tone over time
- Only takes 2–3 minutes before a shower
👉 Curious how I use mine? I shared my dry brushing routine in this IG Reel if you want to see it in action.

Gua Sha + Ridged Roller
This wasn’t just some trendy wellness experiment—I set out to tone my face and bring my jawline back from the abyss. And let me tell you… it worked.
Gua Sha and ridged rollers help move stagnant lymph, reduce puffiness, and increase circulation, which naturally lifts, tightens, and de-puffs your face over time. It’s like a sculpting session + self-care ritual in one.
What I love about it:
- A few intentional minutes each day helped sculpt my face and define my jawline
- My skin looked glowier and tighter (and it actually felt good doing it)
- Goodbye, sluggish lymph. Hello, snatched cheekbones.
I use the Primally Pure Gua Sha + Ridged Roller set—the Ridged Roller in the morning to quickly smooth out sleep lines and wake up my face, then the Gua Sha stone at night for a more intentional and relaxing self-care ritual. Both are paired with the Cleansing Oil as the perfect glide-and-glow base.

Regular Low-Key Exercise
This is not a “go hard or go home” situation. I didn’t hit the gym or do anything extreme. I just moved my body in ways that felt good and doable.
Exercise isn’t just for burning calories—it’s incredible for detoxing, hormone regulation, lymph movement, and supporting your overall health.
Here’s what worked for me:
- Walked 1–2 miles around the block a few times a week
- Did 10-15 minute YouTube workouts (yes, they count!)
- Hiked occasionally or biked in the neighborhood
Small, consistent movement = big results over time.
No burnout. No drama. Just progress.
Moving your body supports lymph drainage and hormone balance. It’s not about burning calories—it’s about feeling good and helping your body detox.
